The 2003 Joint Conference in Penticton is well into the planning stage and it will include Washington State Chapter and an MSA Trade & Equipment Show. The Executive will be holding an Equipment Roadeo at the 2003 Joint Conference. The Rodeo Committee includes Greg Cross, Bill Sadar & Guy Cicon. The Fort St. John Conference was a wonderful experience and the Northern hospitality was something to go back for. The Conference Committee put on an excellent event and came within $8,219 of being on budget. MSA does an excellent job in supporting our association and they also provided $9,000 as an Education donation. We thank the MSA members for another year of support and cooperation. The Audited Financial Statement shows there is a Budget deficit of $13,600.20 for the 2002 year. Our association has $11,560.54 in our Chequing, Education Fund and Savings accounts plus $65,000 in investment certificates for a total of $76,560.54 in assets. The Executive has adopted the 2003 budget with $11,089 coming from prior years surplus. The APWA "Info Now" Program has become very popular with members. The ability to exchange information directly with others is providing many benefits in a very timely manner. Membership recruiting will be very high on the list of activities for this years executive. As this is one of the goals of our Strategic Plan President Dale has included a 6% increase in membership for this year. A special effort will be made to show the benefits of membership to non member agencies. The Association now has the Executive serving from January to December instead of changing leadership during the Annual Conference.
