Congratulations to Ric Bains, David Myles and the entire Victoria Conference Committee on the job well done in hosting the 75th Anniversary of the PWABC Technical Conference and Tradeshow!!
Reflecting back on the years of my involvement with PWA the word “Evolution” comes to mind. Our association is in the process of evolving from what started 75 years ago as a conference committee to what is now striving to become an association that promotes and provides education, recognizes individuals and projects that are significant to our industry, lobbies government on relevant topics, and truly wants to be the voice of Public Works for British Columbia.
In order to maintain the momentum of our evolution we need to carefully evaluate our existing partnerships, membership needs, and our way of conducting business. We need to embrace the development of additional partnerships that will enable us to grow and provide value to the membership. Evolution is essential to ensure our association continues to develop and thrive for the next 75 years.
As the year comes to an end it is time to say good bye and thank you to our exiting Executive Members; John Rosenberg, Gary Kaulbach, Trevor Kushner, and Chuck Baynham. On behalf of the association I thank you for your dedication, and effort which has made a difference in the PWABC. I personally look forward to maintaining our friendship in the years to come. It is also time to welcome the 3 new Executive Members; Sigi Ireland, Gordon Brown, and David Sparanese as well as the 2008 Conference Chair Shawn Boven to take over where the others have left off.
As the end of my term as your President is fast approaching I would like to extend my thanks to the PWA Executive, the MSA Executive and Lloyd Rash for their support and dedication over the past year. Additionally, I thank the membership for the opportunity and honor of leading the Public Works Association of BC for the 2007 year.
President Elect Bob Smith’s leadership skills and passion for Public Works will serve the association well in 2008.
Looking forward to seeing you all again in September at the 2008 Annual Technical Conference in Merritt. YEEHAAWW!!!!!!
Yours truly,
Len Robson PWABC President |
