From the Editor March 2006

Well another winter is nearing a close (got any of that snow budget left?) and it’s time to get out the heavy construction machinery. I don’t know about the rest of you but it seems to me this has been a busy winter and looks like it will carry on well into the next year or two. Mark your calendars for this years conference in Qualicum from September 18th to the 21st  2006. Also of note is the fact that next year marks 75 years of Public Works in BC. To celebrate this occasion we are planning to hold next years conference in Victoria where the first ever Public Works conference was held in BC.

Don’t forget to check our web site for this years conference contest descriptions and entrance requirements.

Public Works week is May 21st  to the 27th lets promote ourselves and the hard work of our employees by participating in this years festivities. For any of you who are interested you can go to the PWA web site to find kits and ideas for putting on some type of event or promotion.

With the summer approaching don’t forget to remind your employees about UV protection and keeping hydrated. Remember “our employees are our most valuable asset”.
