The Public Works Association of British Columbia (PWABC) recognizes that staff in municipalities are actively developing and inventing creative and better ways to get the job done.  This attitude is essential to the way we improve the business and accomplish our goals, as well as “doing more with less.”

PWABC will be awarding $500 in prizes to individual(s) with the best idea or gadget related to public works developed in 2006-2007.  Ideas and gadgets will be judged based on originality, potential for use in other municipalities, and value (return on investment).

Cash prizes will go directly to the staff persons involved and named on the winning submissions.  A plaque (1st place only) will be presented at one of the municipality’s Council meetings or at the annual Public Works conference.  All winning submissions will be displayed at the conference so everyone can benefit from the ingenuity and innovation.  (The winning submissions will be asked to provide a display board).
